Tadhg Stray Wandered In is a fast, ferocious one-man play told by a seventeen-year-old from Navan who believes getting out is the same thing as being free.

 Armed with wit, bravado, and very little money, he drifts to Paris, where he falls in with poets, drinkers, dreamers, and young men living hand-to-mouth in a bare garret. Days blur in cafés, evenings drinking cheap wine, big talk, and hunger — physical and otherwise.

 The play barrels forward in a single, unfiltered voice: funny, cocky, vulnerable, and increasingly unstable. What starts as romantic escape turns into something rawer and more dangerous, as the distance between who Tadhg thinks he is and who he actually is begins to collapse.

 Originally written for and produced by Fishamble: the New Theatre Company, Tadhg Stray Wandered In is a bold piece of contemporary Irish theatre — urgent, darkly comic, and impossible to look away from.
